We would like to announce that the Labour Education Centre (a project of the Toronto and York Region Labour Council) and George Brown College have jointly agreed to discontinue the Passport to Learning -- Labour Studies program.
Both LEC and GBC have a strong belief in extending college accreditation to working people and their families. We have invested an enormous amount of resources and work into establishing and maintaining the program.
However, following our initial three-year agreement, both LEC and GBC concluded that, rather than continuing as a separate program, it would be more effective to consolidate Passport to Learning with the long-standing Labour Studies program at Mohawk College. We are now working with Mohawk College to ensure a seamless transition for students who have partially or fully completed the required number of hours so that these students will be able to complete their certificates. More information will be forwarded as soon as possible.
The Labour Education Centre will continue to offer educational and training workshops and courses on labour studies and related themes (for example, workers in a global economy, equity in unions and labour and community).

Thank you for your interest in Passport to Learning.
